What seems to be confirmed, however, is that tension has been mounting consistently over the expected announcement that the international temporary tribunal established by the United Nations to investigate the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri is expected to release its findings incessantly.
Inside sources KNOW that the tribunal WILL name Hezbollah as the party responsible in the Hariri case and therefore the Shia movement could try to prevent that from happening....and rightfully so....
But, in fact, there is really much more at stake than just naming the guilty party in the murder of a former prime minister. What is in play here is future demarcation lines—the new geopolitical reality — of the Middle East. And the way it looks now the United States is hardly present.... Indeed, US and Western influence in the region is being rapidly replaced by Iran, the new mover and shaker of Middle East politics. And just how did we get here?
The answer to that question is somewhat complicated as it involves many poor foreign policy decisions made by the United States....since 1967 and the attack by Israel on the USS Liberty in international waters.....
The first part may be found on a Sunday morning in October 1983 when the US Marines and French forces serving with the multinational force in Lebanon were attacked. Within minutes the US lost 241 men, most of them Marines, the French suffered 58 casualties, most of them paratroopers.
The damage caused by those two bombs had a far greater reach than the men it killed on that October morning. Those two explosions began reshaping US foreign policy in the Middle East. On this new map the United States began to slowly disappear and the Islamic Republic of Iran started to emerge as the center of power. However, these changes were not immediately visible to everyone.
Within days of the attacks the US, French and Italian contingents and the handful of British troops serving the cause of perpetual civil wars in the Middle East.... packed-up and left Lebanon to its own destiny, along with plans to help rebuild a strong central government. From there on, once the United States began retreating, the message seemed to be widely understood by the enemies of the US: America will not stand up and fight....
The second part of the answer how the US got there relates to US foreign policy vis-à-vis Damascus. By sharing the deeds of the odious White House Murder INC,....with the Syrians, as they have, the US has helped push Damascus straight into the arms of the Iranians....without paying any price for it for three decades.... This has given Tehran a firm foothold on the Mediterranean.
It may be a tad too late at this point to save Lebanon from falling entirely under the influence of Teheran. Short of a miracle it would appear that the United States has thrown in the towel. Lebanon may have been a pain, where as far as the US is concerned. But was deep down inside a very pro-American country.....until the morning of January 24th 2002....and the launch of the assassination operations of the sordid Siamese Twins CIA/MOSSAD and the infamous White House Murder INC,.... In abandoning this loyal friend the US will come to realize just how important that little country was to the geopolitical stability of the region and the World.... Once again, here we go.....

ان الواجب القضائي والقانوني يقتضي بعدم تسييس المحكمة واستغلالها، والأخذ بالاحتمالات كافة وخصوصا احتمال ضلوع العدو الصهيوني الغادر مع سوريا في عملية الاغتيال المروعة والمستفيد الأول من كل ما يجري لا سيما بعدما كشفه وعرضه سماحة الأمين العام ل"حزب الله" السيد حسن نصر الله من معطيات وقرائن تثبت بلا أدنى شك أو ريبة هذا الاحتمال الذي لا يجوز اغفاله أو التغطية عنه".
يقف لبنــان عند مفترق. المرحلة مصيرية والبلد امام اخطار تهدد وجوده وكيانه... فألبلد يعيش في ظلَّ استحقاقات وانقسامات حادة لا سيما تلك المتعلقة بسلاح المقاومة والتحريض المتعنّت القائم عليه و قرب صدور القرارالمسيّس والجائر للمحكمة الدولية والوضع الوزاري. والخلافات، حول ألتوجهات والحلول التي يحتاجُ إليها الوطن، متناقضة حتى التصلّب.
لذلك,وفي هذا المناخ بالزات, نحن "شعب لبنان" أخذنا ألقرار بأن لا نقف مكتوفي الايدي بعد أليوم حيال هؤلاء الذين اثبتت التجارب على انهم ليسوا على مستوى المهمة ونطالب بزعماء متشبّثون في قناعاتهم أوفياء منصفون عادلون قادرون على أن يعيدوا بناء جمهوريتنا على دعائم جديدة من الإيمان بالوطن والثقة بالنفس . نحن أليوم ، شعبَ لبنان، نريد:
زعماء أبطال،
زعماء لهم رؤى دفاعية صادقة الأهداف، تأبى أن يستباح شبر واحد من الوطن "كل الوطن"،
زعماء يتوقدون بذاكرة وطنيّة، يحترمون المقاومين في سبيل الحريّة و الكرامة الوطنيّة، يفتخرون ويعتزّون بإنجازاتهم ويقدّرون تضحياتهم .
زعماء يدعمون و يؤيّدون السلاح الموجود في يد المقاومة الشريفة التي تحارب العدو الإسرائيلي الذي يعمل ليل نهار على إرساء مشروع التوطين من أجل إبعاد شبح عودة الفلسطينيين الى ديارهم.
زعماء يتوجّهون بروحٍ وطنية يحتذي به المواطنون، فيعمّمون إرساء المواطنية المثالية المنفتحة على الاخر وقبول الاخر بدل المواطنية القبلية أو الطائفية أو الحزبية المغلقة،
زعماء يتمتّعون بطاقة معنويّة عالية، يثقون بمعتقداتهم وقيمهم، ويعلنون حسّهم الواضح للأهداف،
زعماء يملكون الحكمة والرؤيا الصحيحة والوطنية ما يمكنهم من توجيه جهود شعبهم نحو نتائج تتخطى متناول يدهم الحالي،
زعماء لهم رؤى سياسية واجتماعية اقتصادية بعيدة الإشعاع،
زعماء يعون واجبهم في ضمان مساواة الجميع أمام القانون،
نحن ، شعب لبنان، نريد اليوم زعماء يوئمنون بأن الشعبيّة الفرديّة لا تجدي وزوالها سريع وأن كينونة وطننا بين ايديهم تعتمد على قدرتهم على أن يكونوا احرار شرفاء فيتخذوا قرارات كبيرة وحاسمة رغم الانتقادات أو خسارة النقاط السياسيّة... ولن نتوصّل إلى كل ذلك إلااذا قاموا وقمنا بتقديّم المصلحة العامة على مصالحنا الخاصة.
"... واذا كنا نحن ، شعب لبنان، نريد هذا الصنف من الزعماء، فلناخذ المبادرة ونلتزم التزاما تعنّتيا في جعل هذا ألخيار خيارنا وعندها لا بد ان يستجيب القدر"
